Special fans for SuperMario at the stadium

Mario Pašalić will hardly be able to forget yesterday afternoon: Atalanta beat Spezia 5-2 and they were able to do it also thanks to his brace. SuperMario scored the first goal, which was the equaliser, and the 3-1 goal, which for the team meant going into half-time having a clear mind.

But not just that. On the occasion of the clash against Spezia, Mario Pašalić had some very special fans in the stands of the Gewiss Stadium: a group of representatives from Gosk Kastela, the team of his hometown as well as the team in which our Nerazzurri number 88 was raised as a player, attended the match. It was a wonderful party atmosphere!

And Mario Pašalić’s brace inspired the statisticians.
Mario was involved in nine goals (four goals and five assists) in 13 appearances in 2021-2022, improving his tally from last season (8) – which he had set in league 25 games – and matching his record for assists in a single Serie A season: five, like in the 2019-2020 campaign.
Pašalić is also the midfielder to have taken part in the most goals (eight) across the top 5 European leagues since October, contributing four goals and four assists.
Mario scored more than one goal four times in Serie A, twice against Spezia (and twice against Brescia, having bagged a brace and a hat-trick).
