Atalanta Primavera’s European campaign kicks off as well, as the Nerazzurri are set to play their opening 2021-2022 UEFA Youth League match tomorrow. Their path will be parallel to the First Team’s, therefore it will start from the game away to Villarreal. The match is scheduled for tomorrow, Tuesday 14 September, at 16 CEST at the Mini Estadi de La Ciudad Deportiva del Villarreal in Castellon (the entrance is allowed only to the Spanish club’s season ticket holders and the match will be aired on our official youtube channel; Geo-blocked content that is only available for users from Italy). This is a return to the competition for the Primavera after participating in the 2019-2020 season. “Last season it was disappointing not to be able to play the Youth League because of Covid – said the Nerazzurri coach Massimo Brambilla -. This year we are participating again and we are happy, excited and curious to be able to compete against international high-level teams”.
The Nerazzurri are fresh from an impressive victory in the league: “We are feeling good. Even the win over Juve arrived after providing a good performance. That gave us excitement and confidence. In the end, the results also help build self-esteem. We are ready to play Villarreal. They are an opponent to discover, they will certainly have a way of playing that follows the Spanish method. Villarreal’s first team has many players who came through the youth academy, so they certainly work well and have their strength in the youth sector. It will certainly be a balanced match and we will have to play brilliantly”.
