Primavera Atalanta 4-2 Juventus

On matchday 2 of the 2021-2022 Primavera 1 TIMVISION “Trofeo Giacinto Facchetti” championship at the Bortolotti Training Centre in Zingonia, coach Brambilla’s Atalanta beat Juventus 4-2 thanks to a brilliant performance.

A minute’s silence was held before the match to remember Bryan Dodien, the footballer who grew up in the Juventus youth academy who died prematurely due to a serious illness at the age of 17.

It was an excellent start from the Nerazzurri, as Omar fired wide in the 6th minute and then scored the opener after converting Ceresoli’s assist on 10 minutes. This was the Swedish forward’s third goal in the first two rounds. Before the half-hour mark, Lozza and Chiwisa couldn’t make the most of a good chance, but Bernasconi then doubled the Atalanta lead on 33 minutes after he found the back of the net with a left-foot angled drive. Dajcar was tested twice by Juventus and after making some great saves, the visitors pulled one goal back through Chibozo just before half-time.

In the second half, the Nerazzurri got off to a great start: Lozza restored the two-goal advantage after a few seconds and then bagged a brace to make it 4-1 one minute later. Oliveri almost scored a fifth with a header but Juventus’ pressure started growing in the final minutes. Dajcar saved Bonetti’s shot but, at the same time, Sidibe’s header forced a great save from Scaglia. Turco made it 4-2 on 82 minutes and that was the final scoreline. Now the team will turn their focus to the UEFA Youth League and their opening match away to Villarreal.
