An injury-time goal put an end to Atalanta U19s’ journey in the first round of the 2021-2022 Primavera 1 TIMVISION “Trofeo Giacinto Facchetti” championship, as Juventus beat the Nerazzurri 2-1 at the Stadio Ricci in Sassuolo to qualify for the semifinals.
The first big chance of the match was for the Nerazzurri when on 27 minutes Cisse found space but hit the inside of the post. Then again it was the Nerazzurri’s centre forward to send a header just over and Chibozo’s angled drive was wide. In the 40th minute, it was again Cisse to wedge himself between two defenders but his finish was again over. In stoppage-time, Juventus took advantage of the Nerazzurri losing the ball and opened the scoring through Mbangula Tshifunda.
In the second half, Renault tried his luck on 56 minutes with a shot from outside the box but was denied by the goalkeeper, afterwards the opponents’ defence denied Giovane. On 62 minutes it became all level: Bernasconi, who just came off the bench, sent a low cross from the left, Cisse twisted and flicked the ball home into the bottom corner. On 80 minutes Sassi denied Iling Junior by deflecting the insidious finish for a corner. In injury time, the Nerazzurri got hit hard as Juventus found the winner through Cerri who made it the final 2-1.
