On matchday 34 of the 2021-2022 Serie A TIM, Atalanta claim an important 3-1 victory over Venezia at the stadium Penzo thanks to goals from Pašalić, Zapata and Muriel.
Things were lively since the opening minutes, as Djimsiti tried to break the deadlock within four minutes with a left-foot angled drive inches wide and Henry’s goal was disallowed for offside after a VAR review minutes later. In the 13th minute, Muriel’s free-kick into the box found Palomino, who hit the post from close range and seconds later, Muriel drilled inches wide. The Nerazzurri, who wore their hot coral kit today, kept their pressure on. Hateboer’s strike, which was going in, was deflected onto the bar by Ceccaroni in the 22nd minute. Atalanta managed to find the breakthrough on 44 minutes when Muriel dribbled past a few defenders, his pass took a deflection, bounced off the bar and Pašalić tapped in.
The second half opened up in the best way, as Zapata doubled Atalanta’s lead after tapping in from Muriel’s assist in the 47th minute. Musso had to parry Okereke’s dangerous cross-shot on 52 minutes and Muriel almost made it 3-0 on 58 minutes when he smashed a left-foot angled drive onto the post. However, the Colombian found the back of the net in the 63rd minute by nodding in Zappacosta’s perfect cross. Henry also hit the woodwork for Venezia on 68 minutes and the hosts pulled one back through Crnigoj in the 81st minute, which made it the final 1-3.
