Primavera’s journey in the 2021-2022 UEFA Youth League ends with a draw on Group F matchday 6, as the Nerazzurri draw 2-2 against Villarreal at the Bortolotti Training Centre in Zingonia.

The Nerazzurri got off to a good start, as De Nipoti threatened on 7 minutes with a shot that skimmed the post. They took the lead in the 15th minute when Renault converted from the spot after De Nipoti was brought down by the visiting goalkeeper. Two saves from Sassi denied Geralnik in the 17th and the 26th minute.

In the second half, Fisic got off the bench to double Atalanta’s lead from a tight angle. Villarreal had the chance to pull one back but they were denied by the post first and Sassi then. The visitors halved their disadvantage on 75 minutes through Torrents Beltran and brought Villarreal level on 84 minutes through Pacheco Ruiz. In the final minutes, Atalanta almost scored the winner, as Fisic stroke the post and Oliveri hit the outside of the post.
