A big joy at the Gewiss Stadium where the Nerazzurri fans have celebrated the first historic Champions League win in Bergamo with the First team. Remo Freuler is speaking for everybody who has Atalanta at heart: “We are all very happy”. 

There’s so much joy and satisfaction! There’s so much enthusiasm! The fans are still continuing to encourage you and chant your names!

“Yes, there is. Today is the first time they’re here for the Champions League at home. We’ve won three points for the fans. We are all very happy.”

Remo, you were looking for a goal. You won 1-0, it’s true. But you were in control of the game. Did you expect Young Boys to be so clammed up in defence?

“There are no doubts. We deserved to win. We expected it to be a tough match because they are very fast upfront. We always have to be very alert at the back and they defended well because they were sitting deep. It wasn’t easy to carve out spaces, especially in the first half. Then we were faster in the second half, with two touches. We created more goalscoring opportunities.”
