BSC Young Boys are again the Nerazzurri’s opponents on the 2021-2022 UEFA Champions League Group F Matchday 5. The match is taking place on Tuesday 23 November at 21 CET at the Wankdorf Stadium in Bern.
The home match, that was held at the Gewiss Stadium on 29 September, saw the Nerazzurri prevail over the Swiss side 1-0 thanks to Pessina’s winner halfway through the second half. It was Atalanta’s first victory of the season in the Champions League.
After four matches, Manchester United and Villarreal are both top of Group F on 7 points, followed by Atalanta on 5 points and bottom-placed Young Boys, who have 3 points.
The Swiss side beat Manchester United 2-1 on Matchday 1 but suffered defeats afterwards: they lost to Atalanta in the above-mentioned match and to Villarreal in the next two fixtures (4-1 in Bern and 2-0 in Spain in the lastest round).
In the League, Young Boys sit third on 22 points after 12 games preceded by Zurich (25) and Basel (26), who both played one more fixture, though. In the latest round, on 6 November, they drew 1-1 at Grasshopper. Young Boys’ next League fixture is scheduled for 28 November in which they play away again against Zurich.

Berner Sport Club Young Boys is a football club, headquartered in Bern, the capital of Switzerland. The Club can boast a century-old history as it was founded in 1898. They are the reigning Swiss champions. The Club won their fifteenth title last season, the third consecutive one: they dominated the League, having gained 84 points and having become champions with seven games to spare. Their palmares count seven Swiss Cups, one League Cup and one Supercup at the national level. Not to forget their extraordinary display in the European Cup in the 1958-1959 edition when the Swiss Club managed to reach the semi-final. They played in the UEFA Europe League last season, reaching Round of 16.
