UCL Atalanta 2-2 Manchester United

On matchday 4 of the 2021-2022 UEFA Champions League Group F, the match against Manchester United ends 2-2 at the Gewiss Stadium in Bergamo.

There was a great atmosphere for this match. The first threat came off McTominay, whose shot was deflected by Palomino and the deflection bounced off the post after Musso had been beaten (5′). However, the deadlock was broken by Iličić, who beat De Gea in the 12th minute on Zapata’s assist. Zapata’s effort on goal was then charged down by Bailly on 33 minutes and Ronaldo made it level after a quick Manchester United team move in stoppages.

In the second half, Zapata restored Atalanta’s lead after he converted a Palomino ball over the top with his left foot: the goal was initially disallowed as the offside flag was up, but then was validated by the referee after the VAR check. Zapata almost added a third as he had a few chances, but then Ronaldo made it 2-2 with a shot from the edge of the box in stoppages. However, this night rightfully enters the history of the Club, with the Nerazzurri taking off the pitch to applause from the whole stadium after delivering a great performance.
