Ruslan Malinovskyi and his Ukraine haven’t managed to qualify for the World Cup that is scheduled for the end of this year. It was Wales to get a pass to Qatar 2022 instead. The list of teams who are to play at Qatar 2022 has almost been defined. There are still qualifiers to be held between Costa Rica and New Zealand, Australia and the Arab Emirates, the winner of which will play against Peru.
Presumably, seven Nerazzurri players will set off for Qatar 2022, which is a record for Atalanta, as there have never been more than two Atalanta players to take part in a World Cup before. Andreas Cornelius and Remo Freuler represented the Nerazzurri Club last time at Russia 2018. In this way, the Swiss midfielder will become the only player in the history of Atalanta to play in two editions of the World Cup.
Besides the above-mentioned Freuler, we’ll also see the Dutch Marten de Roon, Hans Hateboer and Teun Koopmeiners for the Netherlands, Joakim Mæhle with Denmark, Mario Pašalić with Croatia and Juan Musso in the Albiceleste shirt for Argentina at Qatar 2022.
