You played your first match as a starter against Sassuolo. What’s your impression?

“I’m really happy with the win. I was really happy to start because that’s what you want as a football player. You want to play a lot of minutes, you want to play games. And I’m really happy that I’ve already played three games. I get some minutes from the coach. I played 90 minutes this time. We’ve got three very important points.”

How important is this win for Atalanta?

“Really important. Sassuolo are a good team. They play really good football. From the goalkeeper to the strikers. So, it was a different match. They have some really good strikers who can score, like Berardi who scored a really good goal. We also have a very good team. We showed that in the very beginning. We pressed them high and scored two nice goals. I’m really proud of the team because we fought until the last moment to keep the win.”

Did Marten De Roon help you today?

“Not only today. He’s been helping me since I came here. Even before, he helped me a lot. I’m really grateful to him for that. He’s a really good guy. And the rest of the group is also very nice. They welcomed me very well. And it feels so good to be here.”

Do you speak Italian or English with your teammates?

“I told them to speak with me only in Italian because I have to listen to it. I cannot understand much. But sometimes I pick up some words. And I even start to distinguish them. I also take lessons every week. I hope I will learn it quickly but it will take some time.”
