Antonio Percassi talks his 10 years as Atalanta President.

EP: 3 June 2010 – 3 June 2020: did you expect these 10 years to be like this?

AP: No, unimaginable for how things went. We started from Serie B and then made it to the Champions League … it’s something incredible.

It was important for us to relaunch the company, Atalanta, I believe we have done a good job.

We have also gone far beyond the expectations, to reach the UCL was the ultimate goal for a football club.

EP: From 2010 to today it has been a real crescendo of results and targets achieved.

AP: I repeat every year that in any case the first objective to be achieved is staying in the category.

We have done it for 9 years, the tenth year is here.

It was a dream, a dream we fulfilled and we are very satisfied with this.

Especially because we see the people, the fans, the context, the environment, the growth of the club at an infrastructural, technical and economic level, which has taken a big step forward.

EP: Heart, passion, love for the Nerazzurri colours: what does Atalanta want to achieve?

AP: This is our story, from a super Atalantina family, I am in particular a super fan;

We are lucky to have my son Luca next in the management, next to me,

who is very good, did a great job, above all he created a context of managers up to the challenge, with great results, thanks to the coach, the technical staff, the players…

A lot has changed since we arrived, also here at the stadium, we have made two important interventions and now the third will start on the Tribuna UBI Banca, then the Curva Sud…

Zingonia, which we want to make even more beautiful, even more efficient … and therefore there’s still a lot to do.

EP: President Percassi, which is the match that has remained in your heart?

AP: The one we won against Shakhtar, the second leg in Kharkiv.

The maximum point of joy was there, because then it meant qualification.

Just like the match against Manchester, from the 1st leg to the 2nd leg, the second half was remarkable, where the cunning and the experience of a club at the highest level showed how to stop the game in the last 10 minutes, after their goalkeeper had been sent off.

There is everything to learn, this makes the club grow, it is inevitable.

At these levels you learn a lot.

EP: In Serie A and Coppa Italia, instead, there are many.

AP: Well, in Serie A we had remarkable games, this year we played matches against Milan, against Inter at the San Siro, which in the second half we deserved to win… Juve that we beat here at home in the Coppa Italia.There were many games, one more beautiful than the other, above all, beyond the results, the football/play that the team expressed.

EP: The first 10 years are gone, the next 10, 20? A dream, an objective?

AP: We hope we can avoid relegation.
