The countdown for the 2021-2022 Primavera TIMVISION Cup championship has begun as on Wednesday 4 May the Nerazzurri face Fiorentina at the Stadio Penzo in Venice with kick-off at 18 CEST (the live broadcast will be available on Sportitalia TV). The Atalanta coached by Massimo Brambilla face Fiorentina to try to bring the trophy back to Zingonia after almost twenty years: in the 2002/03 season, the Nerazzurri claimed the last win out of three in total, all of them were claimed under the current Competitive Activity Coordinator, Giancarlo Finardi. The other two previous victories date back to the 2000/01 and the 1999/2000 seasons. After winning two championships and two Super Cups under Massimo Brambilla, the Nerazzurri will hunt for the national cup. The Nerazzurri youngsters will face the expert of this competition: Fiorentina added their name to the Hall of Fame of the cup six times, winning the last three editions.
The Nerazzurri qualified for the final after beating Cagliari on penalties in the Last 16, defeating Sampdoria 4-2 away in the quarterfinals and, last but not least, winning comfortably 3-0 over Empoli in Zingonia, while the Viola beat Milan 4-3 in the Last 16, Spal in the quarterfinals (2-1), and, finally, Roma in the semifinal (5-2).
