Atalanta were immediately put at disadvantage in the match against Roma. In fact, the Giallorossi took the lead after less than a minute of play. The Nerazzurri tried to straighten out the match but the 2-2 equaliser was disallowed after the VAR check. As Rafael Toloi said at the end of the match: “We must hold our heads high”.

“Yes, we’re sorry, as once we started, we conceded a goal right away. There was also a foul on Djimmy [Berat Djimsiti]. But we won’t complain about the fouls that were penalised and those not. I think we tried hard from the beginning to the end. Small things make the difference. We could have tied the match, but it was offside. And then we conceded from a set play. Everything became more difficult. I’m really sorry because we want to win all matches. But today we didn’t manage to. We must hold our heads high. There’s one match left before the end of the year. We want to round it off in a good way.”

You had equalised, but the 2-2 equaliser was disallowed. Was it due to a foul or offside?

“To tell the truth, I didn’t understand it myself. Due to offside, I guess. It’s difficult to say. I don’t like to talk about it because I haven’t seen it. But, of course, if we had equalised it then, it would have been a whole different match. I’m sorry, as I said. But we must move on. There’s one game left, the away one against Genoa. It will be a difficult match. We must be ready to round it off well.”
