The 2021-2022 Primavera TIMVISION Cup is up for grabs: Atalanta face Fiorentina, the reigning champions of the last three editions. This historic fixture is scheduled for tomorrow, Wednesday 4 May, when Atalanta coached by Massimo Brambilla will face the Viola side at the Stadio Penzo in Venice: the kick-off is at 18 CEST (the live broadcast available on Sportitalia TV).
After winning two championships and as many Supercups over the last years, the Nerazzurri are hunting for the only trophy that has been lacking under Brambilla, a cup that has been lacking in Zingonia for almost twenty years (which was won in 2003 last time out of three successes in total). It will be a knock-out fixture to be forced into extra-time and penalty shootouts in case of a draw. Panada and his teammates have reached the final after winning over Cagliari, Sampdoria and Empoli while the Viola side eliminated Milan, Spal and Roma. It will be the third encounter this season between the two sides in the championship, with one win for each side: 1-0 for the Viola, which was decided by Corradini’s penalty in the away fixture in Tuscany last November and 2-0 for the Nerazzurri at the Centro Bortolotti in Zingonia with Zuccon and Oliveri on the scoresheet. So, it’s time for the third act of a seemingly endless challenge between Atalanta and Fiorentina, which also awarded two Supercups recently. This time it will decide the winner of the national cup at the Penzo in Venice.
