The first chance was for Roma, as Cherubini’s strike was inches wide on 14 minutes. The Nerazzurri had the opportunity to find the breakthrough in the 27th minute, as Bernasconi’s perfect header bounced off the bar. Atalanta had another attempt on 43 minutes when Sidibe’s pass found Omar, who tested Mastrantonio.

The deadlock was broken in the 48th minute through Cherubini, who scored on the counter. The reaction from the Nerazzurri was immediate with Sidibe’s diving header which brought things level on 56 minutes.
