Primavera: Coach Fioretto’s thoughts

Marco Fiorettto will be at the helm of Atalanta U19s this year. The new coach is in his fourth season in the Atalanta Youth Academy and has been promoted after coaching the U16s and U17s in the past seasons. “First of all, I would like to thank the Club for this great opportunity. I am proud to be able to coach this team and at the same time, I feel strongly empowered, given what Atalanta and this Youth Academy represent and also given what the Primavera has done in recent years”.

The main objective, beyond results and finishes, at the youth level is always focused on the growth of the players: “Our duty is to develop these youngsters as much as possible and prepare them for the first teams when they come out of the academy. As far as results are concerned, obviously, the hope is always to be able to get as high as possible, but we will see it along the way. In any case, this must always be a consequence of our teachings”.

Numerically, the most consistent group will be the one with players born in 2004, followed by players born in 2003 and a few youngsters born in 2005: “Certainly the fact that we have already coached many of these players in the lower categories can help us a bit at first. I will ask the boys to always do their best and to make themselves completely available to the staff and the club, and then everything else will follow”.
