De Nipoti with the winner

On matchday 9 of the 2021-2021 Primavera 1 TIMVISION “Trofeo Giacinto Facchetti” championship, coach Brambilla’s Atalanta go back to winning ways at the Bortolotti Training Centre in Zingonia: De Nipoti’s goal in the first half was decisive against Cagliari.

Visitors went down to ten men on 19 minutes, as Iovu was sent off: the Cagliari player fouled De Nipoti after he was through on goal. De Nipoti found the breakthrough at the half-hour mark with a header into the top corner from Oliveri’s corner.

In the second half, on 56 minutes, De Nipoti almost doubled the Nerazzurri’s lead but D’Aniello managed to punch the shot away. So it was Renault who came close to doubling in the 59th minute but his finish from the edge of the box bounced off the post. The visitors threatened through Yanken on 72 minutes, with the player firing over from a good spot but then the Nerazzurri managed to keep the lead until the end and won three very important points.
