The prize-giving ceremony of the 2020-2021 “Premio Brembo” award took place at the Academy Favini, the headquarters of the Atalanta Youth Academy at the Bortolotti Training Centre in Zingonia.
The “Premio Brembo” award is a project conceived with Brembo, the Top Sponsor of the Nerazzurri Youth Academy, which pays specific attention not only to sporting growth but also and above all to human and behavioural values of the young people training at Atalanta. The awards went to the most deserving boys and girls from the Primavera to the Under 15s, according to a selection criterion that took into consideration not only the strictly sporting aspect but also the academic results and behaviour. A special award was also given to Davide Ghislandi who continued his studies at the University and to Candas Fiogbe for his commitment and behaviour. Specifically, this award was given for “the commitment and dedication to overcome the difficulties encountered and then for his behaviour, both on the pitch and at school, where he distinguished himself with a grade of 10 out of 10 for good behaviour”.
Luca Percassi, Atalanta CEO, did the honours: “This is an opportunity that fills us with pride because the greatest responsibility that the Youth Academy has is to raise these young people. Obviously, the aspiration is to be able to compete at the highest levels in the sports field one day, but our main concern is to train the players and ensure that their school career is adequate. This is an award that they will carry with them throughout their lives and which represents exactly what Atalanta tries to do, that is, to combine training on the pitch with school education. The fact that an entrepreneurial entity as important as Brembo has embraced this initiative of the Club is a source of great pride for us and makes us understand how much attention there is behind this project”.
Then there were the greetings of Cristina Bombassei, Brembo Chief Corporate Social Responsibility Officer: “Education and sport at a competitive level are topics that are very dear to us. We believe very much in future generations. Being close to one excellence of the territory such as Atalanta in this project is also a source of pride for us. Innovation is having created this award dedicated both to your professional background but also to school education. These young people have made great sacrifices for sport but also for school and therefore they will certainly be even more mature, so congratulations to everyone: whoever is good at school and is good at sport can call himself a winning person”.
Cristina Bombassei, Brembo Chief CSR* Officer, Antonio Percassi, Atalanta President, Luca Percassi, Atalanta CEO and Maurizio Costanzi, Head of the Youth Academy, will attend the 2020-2021 “Premio Brembo” award ceremony.
