PAŠALIĆ: LIGHTNING BOLT GOAL BY SUPER MARIO

A goal as important as it was quick, the one Mario Pašalić scored cinched the victory against Roma. The Croatian midfielder scored with the first ball he touched and it took only seconds: 19 from the time he was sent in to substitute on the pitch, just 12 from the moment Orsato restarted play. A Super Mario goal with few precedents in Serie A. And even fewer have done better.

Before him it had been Mchelidze with Empoli in March 2015 who took only 14 seconds from the moment he was sent in to substitute (and only 4 from when play was restarted) and Mjatovic with Fiorentina took 15 seconds (4 from when play was restarted) in the 2000-2001 season. Pašalić also equaled his own personal best in scoring in the championship, achieving 5 goals as in the last season and in 2016-2017 with the Milan jersey.

Pašalić was also the twelfth Nerazzurri to score after starting on the sidelines this season, a European record in the top-5 European championships thus far.
