Parma 2-5 Atalanta

On matchday 35 of the 2020-2021 Serie A TIM championship, Atalanta claim a 5-2 victory over Parma at the Stadio Tardini which give another three important points for the second-place and the Champions League race.

The deadlock was broken in the 12th minute when Malinovskyi squirmed a left-foot clinical finish into the near bottom corner. Gosens had two identical chances on 20 and 21: the first header skimmed the post, while the second header was straight at Sepe. An amazing team move was launched by Iličić: the Slovenian ignited Freuler with a touch of magic, the Swiss rolled it across for Zapata, the Colombian thumped the bar. The Colombian had another chance before half-time but his left-foot shot went wide.

In the second half, substitute Pessina strengthened Atalanta’s lead with a left-foot finish from the edge of the box. Muriel and Mæhle almost made it 3-0 before Sportiello had to make an on-rushing save on Pellè. The final minutes of the match were magnificent. After a chance for Djimsiti, who skimmed the post with a header in the 75th minute, Muriel made it 3-0 by finishing Pašalić’s assist on 77. One minute later, Parma pulled one back through Brunetta. However, in the 86th minute, Pessina stroke the post and Muriel tapped in the rebound to add a fourth. It was not over yet: Sohm burst into the box, waltzed Sportiello and made it 2-4. Miranchuk finished it off in stoppage time as he hit a rocket to seal the 5-2 win after Sepe had made two desperate saves.
