The Nerazzurri wingback Joakim Mæhle has been named in the 2021 Danish Best XI.

Joakim has well deserved it: he was one of the key players of both Atalanta and the Denmark national team.

He has collected 45 appearances across Champions League, Serie A and Coppa Italia in the Nerazzurri shirt since he joined Atalanta on 4 January 2021.

With the Denmark national team at EURO2020, he scored two important goals – in the match against Russia (4-1) and in the last 16 fixture against Wales (4-0) – and provided a spectacular assist in the quarterfinal 2-1 win over the Czech Republic. Joakim didn’t stop there: he scored other four goals in the Qatar 2022 World Cup qualifiers, that helped Denmark reach the World Cup.
