After an exciting start to the season for Atalanta, it is time to take stock: many of you have voted on the official ItalianOptic app, the sponsor of this initiative, to name the first Player of The Month, who is… Teun Koopmeiners!

Teun Koopmeiners, who has been the star of the first games of the season, picked up the gong thanks to his performances: the Dutchman stood out for his great quantity (he is the sixth midfielder in Serie A in terms of kilometres run on the average per game), but above all for his excellent quality, most notably the winning goal in the away match in Verona.

It was no walk in the park for Teun, tough. He had to sweat hard to win the award, as he prevailed over two of the stars of the league’s best defence so far. Merih Demiral, who took second place to the tune of his trademark tackles and clearances, and, on the lowest step of the podium, Caleb Okoli who, having returned from loan, immediately showed he was ready for the big stages and to whom goes the title of Atalanta’s wonder of this start of the season.
