After his maiden call-up to the Azzurri, Giorgio Scalvini earned his first cap for the senior Italy squad by replacing Giacomo Raspadori in the 1st minute of the second half of Germany v Italy, which ended 5-2 for the Germans, featuring for forty-five minutes.

Another product of the Nerazzurri’s youth academy thus won a senior national team cap after Alessandro Bastoni’s debut on 11 November 2020. Last night’s debut, at just 18 years, 6 months and 3 days old, makes Scalvini the 7th youngest debutant in the history of the Italy national team.
