After routine medical procedures (medical examinations and tests), Giuseppe Pezzella signed the contract that connects him to Atalanta.
First hours as a Nerazzurri player then for the left wingback and consequently the first official interview as an Atalanta player. Here is what he said.
A special week has just begun for Giuseppe Pezzella, as these are his first hours as an Atalanta player.
“I’m very happy and proud to have joined such a prestigious club as Atalanta and I can’t wait to take to the pitch”.
Born in Naples on 29 November 1997, Pezzella moved to Palermo when he was very young. He played in the Rosanero Youth Academy and made his debut in Serie A with the senior team, playing against Atalanta. He also wore the outfits of Udinese, Genoa and Parma. But who is Giuseppe Pezzella?
“I’m a very humble and open guy, who likes to work hard. I really love my family and I really love football”.
His new adventure in the Atalanta shirt began a few hours ago.
“I think Atalanta has been a perfect machine over the last few years, thanks to the club and the coach. It is the outcome of the hard work of many people, [you have to work hard] to get these results. There must be unity of purpose to achieve great results and deliver great performances. Atalanta have dominated on every field for the last 4-5 years. This means that there’s hard work behind that”.
What does football mean to Giuseppe Pezzella?
“Football is everything, it was my dream when I was a kid. I think of football every morning when I wake up. I wake up thinking of football and I go to bed thinking of it. That’s it.”
How many sacrifices did you make to get to Serie A, to get to where you are today?
“So many. I moved to Palermo when I was 14 years old, therefore I left home when I was very young, but it was worth it. There were sacrifices but also a lot of satisfaction”.
What is your goal?
“My goal this season is to do the best that I can, play as many matches as I can and do well”.
