Bergamo will host the Italy national team after 14 years. Italy-Netherlands, match for the fourth round of League A Group 1 of the UEFA Nations League, will be played at the Gewiss Stadium on the 14th of October. This is a source of pride and satisfaction for Bergamo which will host the Azzurri for the third time in the city’s history.
The last time was on the 15th of November in 2006 when the Italy squad then coached by Roberto Donadoni, took on Turkey in a friendly match, drawing 1-1. The first time in the Bergamo stadium was on 24 January 1987 when the team coached by Azeglio Vicini faced Malta in a European qualifier, winning 5-0.
The Azzurri will return to our stadium, the Gewiss Stadium, in October which, once the summer works have been completed, will be ready to welcome Italy and Roberto Mancini’s Azzurri for an important UEFA Nations League match (the game will be played behind closed doors).
