Gian Piero Gasperini received another important recognition, as he won the 36th edition of the Premio Viareggio Sport – Gherardo Gioè award. The Nerazzurri coach collected the award at the Bortolotti Training Centre due to the midweek round against Venezia in the league. The award statement praises the coach for having presented: “a team who play captivating and entertaining football, who always look forward, whose players bring out the best of themselves individually, proving to be a consolidated group at the same time”.
“It’s a great honour – Gasperini commented on the award – and a great pleasure that I’d like to share with the Club, the players and the whole Bergamo. It’s a prestigious award for everything we managed to achieve in these years. Personally, I have a very strong bond with Viareggio because I’ve won my first award as a coach and since then my real career started”.
