In the home fixture against Hellas Verona, Giorgio Scalvini found the back of the net for the first time in Serie A. He’s only the fourth player born in 2003 to have scored in the league.

This season has been special for the Nerazzurri defender, yet another Atalanta Academy graduate. After making his Serie A debut on 24 October (not yet 18 years old) at the Gewiss Stadium against Udinese, Scalvini began to play more and more minutes featuring several times for the First Team in the final matches of the season (6 appearances as a starter, of which 5 were consecutive ones). His first-ever start was in the Coppa Italia, in the home fixture against Venezia.

In addition to experiencing the joy of scoring his first goal in senior football, he also made his European debut in the Europa League quarter-finals against RB Leipzig at the Red Bull Arena.
