The dream of bringing the Primavera TIMVISION Cup back to Bergamo faded away in stoppage time, as Fiorentina won 1-0 at the Stadio Penzo in Venice at the end of a final that was well played by the Nerazzurri. When it seemed to be heading towards extra time, Corradini scored the winner.

The first chance was for the Viola side within three minutes, as Biagetti’s header was inches wide. Sidibe had a big chance on 8 minutes, who found himself unmarked inside the box but Fogli parried the shot with his foot. Five minutes later, a good give-and-go between Oliveri and Cisse sent Sidibe through, who was denied by Kayode. Sidibe had another chance in the 23rd minute – it was a header from a corner this time – which was once again saved by Fogli and Sassi had to rush off his line on 28 minutes to block Toci.

The second half started with a Cisse effort that was blocked by the on-rushing Viola goalkeeper in the 50th minute. The game got very balanced, with the two defences conceding very little. However, it was when regulation time was almost over that Corradini found the winning goal, sealing the fourth victory in a row in the cup for Fiorentina. Coach Brambilla’s Nerazzurri deserve a round of applause for their splendid journey in the competition, though.
