The Nerazzurri fans made their choice: Luis Muriel is the Player of the Month for February!

During the first round of voting the Atalanta fans were able to choose through the poll their favourite footballer among the players who took part in at least one of the matches of the month. Two finalists came out of this round who had a head-to-head battle through another poll on our Facebook, Twitter and Instagram official channels.

Luis Muriel wins again the award within the initiative in collaboration with ItalianOptic after a really tough head-to-head against Robin Gosens, who truly deserves to be recognised for his February high-level performance and three goals.

However, he met the Colombian on his way. Muriel gave an extraordinary performance and earned the votes of the Atalanta fans not only for scoring three goals and providing three assists in seven matches but also for his astonishing moves and phenomenal statistics. Lucho played always a decisive role when he was in action: right from the first minute, like in the 4-2 victory over Napoli, and also when he came off the bench – as the speciality of the house – like against Cagliari, when he scored the winner in the 90th minute after a divine play.

It’s the second award as the Player of the Month for Luis Muriel this season after the same success in December. “I really want another prize like this” – declared Luis last time he was awarded the prize. Said and done!
