Robin Gosens provided a stunning performance – to say the least – in Portugal-Germany, the match valid for Group F matchday 2 at EURO2020.
The Atalanta wingback was the utmost protagonist of the match, also scoring a goal (which was the second goal scored by an Atalanta player in these European Championships), providing an assist and setting up an own goal. At the end of the match, UEFA named him ‘Star of the Match’.
He was lined up in the starting eleven by Germany coach Joachim Löw and Robin remained on the pitch for 63 minutes. The crowd of the Munich Football Arena rose to salute and applaud him as he came off the pitch.
Gosens was interviewed at the end of the match by Sky and he said: “It was an unforgettable evening, we won against a strong team. Today we had to win. We created a lot of chances”.
“I love you and see you soon” was Robin’s greeting to the Atalanta fans.
