The Lega Serie A has announced the venue of the Coppa Italia Final 2020-2021: on May 19, the Mapei Stadium-Città del Tricolore of Reggio Emilia will become the venue for the match between Atalanta and Juventus.
The 73rd edition of the final will be played for the 39th time as a single leg tournament and in another city for the first time since 2008. It always took place in Rome, which was the venue for the match since then.
The Mapei Stadium hosted the Uefa Europe League matches of Atalanta in the season 2017-2018 (the cover photo refers to the eve of the Nerazzurri’s debut in the competition against Everton), besides the UEL preliminary round matches for the following season.
Due to the reconstruction works at the Gewiss Stadium (in particular the first stage of works regarding the reconstruction of the new Curva Nord Pisani), Atalanta played their last two home Serie A matches of the season 2018-2019 at the Mapei Stadium (against Genoa and, by some funny coincidence, against Sassuolo, the owner of the venue) and mathematically won the qualification for the Champions League for their first time in the history.
