In the 2021-2022 Coppa Italia Freecciarossa Round of 16, Atalanta beat Venezia 2-0 at the Gewiss Stadium in Bergamo and qualify to the quarterfinals of the competition where they will face the winner between Napoli and Fiorentina.

Muriel opened the scoring after 12 minutes, as he controlled Freuler’s long ball, dribbled past a defender and tapped into the bottom corner. Koopmeiners’ header skimmed the upper part of the crossbar in the final minutes of the first half.

In the second half, Hateboer threatened right away and, after a goal for Venezia was disallowed as Henry was offside, the Nerazzurri almost doubled their lead through Pezzella, who hit the post with a right-foot finish. Musso then smothered Henry’s close-range shot in the 69th minute. In the final minutes, Mæhle won the ball and, after sprinting alone, he exchanged with Pašalić and sealed the qualification to the quarterfinals for the Nerazzurri.
