In the second pre-season friendly held at the Gewiss Stadium, Atalanta comfortably get past Alessandria, as goals poured in this very hot afternoon.
It was a very strong start from Atalanta and the Nerazzurri’s pressure kept growing into the game. The first goal came off a Youth Academy’s product, Giorgio Scalvini, in his first season with the senior team. The defender tapped in after Roberto Piccoli’s shot was beaten away by Russo on 13 minutes. Josip Iličić was also in great shape, as he doubled Atalanta’s lead in the 20th minute with a curler into the top corner and Pašalić added another one in the 30th minute. The visitors pulled one back through Arrighini on 43 minutes but Iličić restored the 3-goal lead just before half-time. Three more goals were scored in the second half, as Muriel converted a penalty in the 51st minute, Gosens steered a first-time shot into the net after he was set up by Zapata on 56 minutes and Toloi completed the scoresheet in the 82nd minute.
