On matchday 18 of the 2021-2022 Serie A TIM, Roma win 4-1 at the Gewiss Stadium in Bergamo.
The game immediately got uphill as Abraham scored the opener within 2 minutes. Rui Patricio then palmed over Djimsiti’s wonderful finish on 20 minutes, yet Zaniolo doubled the Roma lead in the 27th minute. Two minutes later, Toloi was denied by Rui Patricio, but it was Muriel, who had got off the bench in the 34th minute, who pulled one back after his shot was deflected off Cristante.
Zapata did get his header in the net, which was also deflected off Cristante, and that temporarily made it 2-2. However, it was disallowed after the VAR check for a Palomino offside, who was considered to have interfered during the play/touched the ball. That is how the game went from a potential draw to 1-3, as Smalling turned in a Veretout free-kick. In the end, Abraham added a fourth in the 82nd minute.
