Having finished eighth in the 2021-2022 season, Atalanta are one of the seeded teams in the 2022-2023 Coppa Italia, with number 8 (they are on the top left-hand side of the draw). This means that the Nerazzurri will start the competition from the Round of 16, which is scheduled for 10-12 January and 17-19 January. The quarterfinals are to be held from 31 January till 2 February. The semifinals are to be played in two legs: the first one is to take place on 4-5 April, and the second leg is to take place three weeks later, on 25-26 April. The final is scheduled for 24 May at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome.
The Nerazzurri will have to wait for the outcome of two rounds to know their opponent in the round of 16, which will come out of these Round of 64 matches: Salernitana v Parma, Spezia v Como, Pisa v Brescia, Bologna v Cosenza, Cagliari v Perugia and Monza v Frosinone.
The other seed at the top of the draw is Inter with number 1 (a potential meeting in the quarter-finals), while Juventus and Lazio are the other seeds in the lower part of the draw (a potential meeting in the semifinals).
