Atalanta claimed a 3-1 win over Venezia at the Stadio Penzo, creating many goal-scoring opportunities. As defender Berat Djimsiti confirms: “We had to win”, – so, the Nerazzurri won three valuable points.

“Yes. It’s been a while since we last won. We had to win and we managed to do it. I think we played well during the first 70-75 minutes. I don’t get back to the final minutes, as we didn’t play that well, but we put in a great performance during the first 70-75 minutes”.

You had to win, as it was said and you also created many chances, besides the goals from Pašalić, Muriel and Zapata.

“Yes, of course. The important thing was to start to score again and create chances that were dangerous, to cause problems for opponents. We missed it as it’s been a while. Moreover, it’s an important phase because we came from a losing streak, which was hard. We managed to win today after going through a run of defeats, to win all three points. It wasn’t easy, though. It wasn’t easy but you won three points”.

You’re still within touching distance from European qualification. As you said, with regard to European spots, you believe in it, but you’re thinking one game at a time.

“I think, at the moment, it was important to win today’s match. Now we must take one game at a time and look ahead, regain confidence after this match, look at the chances we created, as we’re not dead yet, in such a difficult phase, [it was important] to show that we created a lot. [This win] will give us confidence. We’ll surely take one game at a time and then we’ll see where it’ll lead us”.
