Ruslan Malinovskyi passes the title of the player of the month to Merih Demiral! The Turkish defender triumphs again after collecting the award in January and wins the ItalianOptic Player of the Month for the second time this season!
It was Demiral‘s outstanding displays and superb tackles to allow him to win the ItalianOptic Player of the Month again. Atalanta have three kept clean sheets in March in the matches against Genoa, Bologna and, most importantly, in the away fixture against Leverkusen, the fixture that allowed the Nerazzurri to qualify for the UEFA Europa League quarter-finals and that also allowed Merih Demiral to be named Player of the Week of the competition.
The other finalist, against whom Demiral had to struggle to claim a narrow win, certainly deserves to be mentioned, too: it’s Luis Muriel. In fact, in the past month, Muriel found again the joy of scoring goals and did it in his own style: one assist and two goals in the first leg of the Europa League Round of 16 against Bayer Leverkusen. Thanks to that fantastic display, the Colombian player won the title of Player of the Week in the competition on that day. So, let’s give loud applause to Lucho, whose displays in April have already made him a candidate for the next POTM.
Congratulations, Merih on the well-deserved award!
