UEL Olympiacos 0-3 Atalanta

Atalanta also win the second leg of the 2021-2022 UEFA Europa League knockout round playoffs and qualify to the Round of 16 after producing a strong display. At the Stadio Georgios Karaiskakis in Piraues/Athens, the Nerazzurri beat Olympiacos 3-0 after the 2-1 victory in the first leg.

It was a highly balanced match, with M. Camara trying to break the ice in the 7th minute with a shot from outside the box that flashed just wide. On 36 minutes, Hateboer and de Roon combined well for the Nerazzurri, but Pašalić’s effort was intercepted. The opener arrived in the 40th minute, as de Roon’s through ball found Mæhle, who prod it past the goalkeeper with his toe.

In the second half, the Nerazzurri took the game under control and Malinovskyi scored two amazing goals to put the game to bed between the 66th and the 69th minute. The first goal, which he hit first-touch, was assisted by Koopmeiners, then he hit an absolute scorcher into the top corner from 25 meters out to make it 3-0.  In the final minutes, the young player from the Academy Cittadini made his European debut.
