Gian Piero Gasperini addressed the media ahead of the clash against Cagliari. The match against the Sardinians is the first game after the break, as well as the first of four consecutive fixtures taking place at the Gewiss Stadium across Serie A TIM, Coppa Italia Frecciarossa and the UEFA Europa League.
Atalanta-Cagliari is the lunchtime kick-off of matchday 24: “When you resume after a break – said Gasperini -, there are always some question marks. It’s been a long break, but we had almost the whole team at our disposal. Cagliari have recovered points lately. They deserve to be higher on the table”.
“We need to win tomorrow – added the coach -, but we know this match can hide some difficulties. This is a tough league, as there are teams that can take away points from anyone. The second half of the league will be even more difficult. There are a lot of fixtures against teams that are close to us on the table and we’ll also have two knockout competitions like Coppa Italia and the Europa League. February’s fixtures are starting to become decisive”.
