Olympiacos suffered a defeat in the Greek Cup: our next opponent in the UEFA Europa League were defeated by Panetolikos in the first match of the quarter-finals that was held yesterday, on Wednesday 19 January. Olympiacos were leading but the hosting side came from behind and won 2-1. The second leg is scheduled for 25 January.
In the League this month, the Greek side drew 0-0 both the matches they played away: the former against Apollon Smyrnius (5 January), the latter against Panatinaikos (16 January). The home fixture of 9 January against Asteros Tripolis has been postponed. Olympiacos’s next fixture is scheduled for Sunday 23 January, when they’ll visit PAS Giannina in Piraeus.
As for the rankings, Olympiacos sit firmly at the top of the Super League’s table on 43 points followed by Paok, sitting on 34 points, and AEK on 33.
