“I’m really happy right now and so is my family, as we have wanted to come here for a long time. And now we’re only happy that the deal is done. I think Atalanta are a great team, they’re very strong and they’re proved to be an important team in Serie A over the last 5-6 years. I think it’s the perfect match with my style of play. I believe it’s the right team for me to take another step and try to win something important.”
Jérémy is a skilled forward with great technique and pace, who can easily dribble past opponents. According to an Opta statistic, he is the player with the most successful dribbles in Serie A in the calendar year 2021.
“This is my usual play, which is to take the risk to try something different. I know everybody expects something more from me and, at the same time, I expect myself to do better. So, I’m happy to be here.”
It’s been an eventful month of January for Jérémy Boga, as he took part in the African Cup of Nations, signed the contract that ties him to Atalanta and showed a great desire to start wearing the Nerazzurri colours.
“I know it’s a solid team where everyone runs for the other, where each player works hard. I think it’s perfect, as you can see it’s a real team.”
The French-born forward, who decided to represent the Ivory Coast, has chosen number 10, showing great personality.
“I had 7 when I played for Sassuolo. I’ve always wanted the number 10 as a kid. It was available and I think it’s the right number for my new adventure.”
His new fans have already welcomed him.
“I wanted to thank them because I’ve received so many messages wishing me good luck. I know they’re waiting for me and I can’t wait to see them at the stadium.”
