On matchday 4 of the 2021-2022 UEFA Youth League Group F, Manchester United win 2-1 at the Bortolotti Training Centre in Zingonia.
The visitors immediately took the lead through Shoretire, who found the back of the net with just 8 minutes in. Elanga doubled Manchester United’s lead on 23 minutes directly from a free-kick. A reaction from the Nerazzurri came to a penalty awarded to Atalanta (for Svidersky’s handball), which was perfectly converted by Renault into the top corner. The second half opened up with Omar testing Vitek, who deflected for a corner. Manchester United threatened with Bennett in the 52nd minute, whose header bounced off the post. Sassi then had to make a save on Shoretire and avoided conceding the third goal, while at the other end, Oliveri carved out a space to get the shot away but his finish went over. De Nipoti threatened on 72 minutes but his chip shot was off target. In the final minutes, Sassi parried Elanga’s counter with his foot, but the 2-1 was enough for Manchester United to get the three points.
