It’s the eve of the second match of the 2021-2022 UCL for Atalanta, who will host the Swiss from Young Boys. And this will also be the first Champions League match in front of the fans that the Nerazzurri will play at the Gewiss Stadium. Remo Freuler is determined: “We want to win”.
It’s the second match of Group F, Atalanta-Young Boys: is the goal to get the win, Remo Freuler?
“Yes, of course. It’s the first home match in this group stage. And, surely, our goal is to win and the game and get the three points.”
What does Remo Freuler know about Young Boys?
“To be honest, I watched them in the Champions League playoffs, I didn’t watch them earlier. I don’t often watch the Swiss league. But they are great at attacking, they score a lot. So, we’ll have to best prepare ourselves even defensively, but in the end, we have to look at ourselves, play our games and try to score.”
Atalanta are surely pumped for this match after the result at the San Siro against Inter.
“Yes, it’s definitely an added value for tomorrow’s game. I think we produced a good display at the San Siro, we could have won the game in the end. This gives us certain confidence for tomorrow’s game against a strong team of value. But we want to win.”
What will Atalanta have to do to win against Young Boys?
“We have to be ourselves, we have to play like we always do, putting in all those things we know. That’s how I’m sure we’ll win the game.”
Remo, it’ll be the first Champions League match at the Gewiss Stadium with our fans on the stands. It’ll be a historic match.
“At last! After three years, after many games, and last year there was Covid. It’s a pity because there were some good matches. We are very happy. I hope there will be the same atmosphere as always in Bergamo and perhaps as never seen before because it’s the first UCL match at the Gewiss Stadium. We hope it’s gonna be packed and in the right mood.”
