Three Nerazzurri have made it to the EURO2020 semifinals: Rafael Toloi and Matteo Pessina with Italy and Joakim Mæhle with Denmark! Congrats!
Remo Freuler and Switzerland’s and Ruslan Malinovskyi and Ukraine’s journey came to an end in the quarter-finals.
We are proud of what Remo and Ruslan have done at these European Championships and we are sure they will be able to achieve great things in their national team’s shirt in the future.
Here is the schedule of the semifinals that will take place at the Wembley Stadium in London:
– Tuesday 6 July, kick-off 21 CEST: Italy-Spain
– Wednesday 7 July, kick-off 21 CEST: England-Denmark
Here are the results of the quarterfinals and the Nerazzurri’s recap.
Remo Freuler with Switzerland and Rafael Toloi and Matteo Pessina with Italy took to the pitch on Friday 2 July:
– St. Petersburg Stadium, Switzerland 1-1 Spain after extra time / 1-3 after penalties (Remo played for 77 minutes before being sent off; his red card was definitely excessive. Freuler also provided the assist for Shaqiri’s equaliser in the 68th minute)
– Football Arena in Munich, Belgium 1-2 Italy (Rafael Toloi played in the final minutes of the match, while Matteo Pessina was on the bench)
Saturday 3 July was Joakim Mæhle‘s with Denmark and Ruslan Malinovskyi‘s with Ukraine turn:
– Olympic Stadium in Baku, the Czech Republic 1-2 Denmark (Joakim Mæhle completed the full 90 minutes and provided the assist for Denmark’s two-goal lead)
– Olympic Stadium in Rome, Ukraine 0-4 England (Ruslan Malinovskyi was not on the team sheet)
