THE ROAD TO THE UCL ROUND OF SIXTEEN: AN OVERVIEW OF VALENCIA

Valencia, opponent in the second leg of the 2019-2020 UEFA Champions League Round of 16, was defeated 3-0 on the Real Sociedad pitch Saturday in the last round of the championship: Merino and Monreal scored in the first half, Januzaj at the beginning of the second half.

The team coached by Albert Celades is now in eighth place with 38 points, on par with Villareal, overtaken in the standings by none other than Real Sociedad which leads it by two points with one less match to play. However, these are tight standings, with Atletico Madrid in third place and Sevilla only five lengths behind.

Before playing the second leg of the Champions League Round of Sixteen on March 10th, Valencia will play two more championship matches: Saturday February 29th at home against Betis and Friday March 6th on the Alaves pitch.
