Here’s the third episode of Spot the difference, one of the initiatives launched on Atalanta official Instagram, Facebook and Twitter accounts. The fans have to compare two pictures which apparently are equal, but actually differ for 5 little details. The aim is obviously to spot all the differences.

This episode’s protagonist is Josip Iličić, snapped during one of his two celebrations at Signal Iduna Park in Dortmund in the evening of the 5th February 2018. Atalanta had returned to play in European competitions after 26 years since their last participation. They were called to take on Borussia Dortmund in the Europa League round of 32. Pushed by the black-and-blue “wall” – more than 5000 Bergamaschi went to Germany to see the team play – Gasperini’s guys played an excellent match, in which Iličić bagged a wonderful brace, temporarily overturning the initial advantage of Schürrle and making all Atalanta fans dream. The final result, 3-2 for the black-and-yellow side, which performed a comeback as well, didn’t blur a magical night, which will stay forever in the pages of Atalanta history.
