Giancarlo Finardi and Matteo Pessina received an award as “Children’s friends… An example for them” (in Italian “Amico dei bambini… Un esempio per loro”) on the occasion of the presentation of the 17th “Amici dei Bambini” (Children’s friends) tournament which was held by the Club from Milan Aldini. Pierluigi Frosio, who passed away recently, was commemorated at the ceremony. He was Atalanta’s coach in the early 90s and one of Aldini’s managers during the last 14 years.
A charity project was introduced during the event at the Sala Orlando of Trade Union in Milan, which is supported with the proceeds from the tournament: #BAMBINIxLAPACE (“Children for Peace”) aims to provide emergency help for children from Ukraine. The project is promoted by Ai.Bi, Associazione Amici dei Bambini (Children’s Friends Association), which is a humanitarian organization helping to ensure children’s right to a family since 1986.
